Minutes of Meetings - August, 2009
REGULAR MEETING - TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2009
The Perry Township Board of Trustees held a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Present
were Chairman Haskell, Vice Chairman Amos, Trustee Steele, Fiscal Officer Page, Administrator Siegel and those
whose names appear on the attached attendance sheet.
The News Herald was advised of this meeting according to law.
Chrm. Haskell called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Vice Chrm. Amos moved and Trustee Steele seconded to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held Tuesday, July
21, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
Vice Chrm. Amos moved and Trustee Steele seconded to schedule a Public Hearing to consider Zoning Resolution rewrite
for August 25, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
TFO Page advised the State Auditors are here doing their bi-annual audit of Township financial records. They should
be finished within the next week or so.
Chrm. Haskell recognized Administrator Siegel who advised regarding:
1. Trustee Steele moved and Vice Chrm. Amos seconded to approve expenditure of $38,820.00 for purchase of 750 tons
of road salt at $51.76 per ton. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
2. Regarding a letter received from the Muziks of Middle Ridge Road, Administrator Siegel advised the Board that
he had responded by letter, addressing all of the zoning issues which were raised.
3. The Board again discussed possible candidates for replacement of Ruth Garland on the Land Use Committee.
4. Zoning Board of Appeals will meet to consider a request for a variance on August 11, 2009 at 7:00 p.m.
Chairman Haskell presented the following captioned Resolution and moved its adoption:

THE AWARD OF EXCELLENT IN THE ACADEMY'S STATE SCIENCE DAY.
Vice Chrm. Amos seconded. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. RESOLUTION ADOPTED. Complete Resolution on file.
Chairman Haskell presented the following captioned Resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2009-45
A RESOLUTION HONORING JOSEPH R. JOHNSON FOR ATTAINING
THE AWARD OF SUPERIOR IN THE ACADEMY'S STATE SCIENCE DAY.
Trustee Steele seconded. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. RESOLUTION ADOPTED. Complete Resolution on file.
The Board discussed the progress being made on the stamped pad for the columbarium in the cemetery. Concerns regarding
winter usage were discussed as well as the point that salt can not be allowed on the concrete.
Chrm. Haskell again asked from input from the floor. Jack Federau of Clark Road complained about people parking
their cars at the corner of Clark and Blackmore Roads.
There being no other business, Vice Chrm. Amos moved and Trustee Steele seconded to adjourn the Regular Meeting.

REGULAR MEETING - TUESDAY, AUGUST 18, 2009
The Perry Township Board of Trustees held a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Present
were Chairman Haskell, Vice Chairman Amos, Administrator Siegel, Clerk Pro Tem Woltman and those whose names appear
on the attached attendance sheet. Trustee Steele and Fiscal Officer Page were absent from the meeting.
The News Herald was advised of this meeting according to law.
The Board held an advertised Work Session prior to their Regular Meeting.
Chrm. Haskell called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Vice Chrm. Amos moved and Chrm. Haskell seconded to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held Tuesday, August
4, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. POLL OF BOARD: 2 Ayes. MOTION PASSED.
Mrs. Woltman reported the July, 2009 receipts at $785,751.27 and disbursements at $507,273.79. Year-to-date
receipts total $1,808,314.50 and disbursements are $1,614,063.20. Cash on hand, reconciled at 7/31/09, was $3,831,847.28.
Captain Sparkman of the Lake County Sheriff's Department was in attendance and delivered the CAD Report for July.
Jack Federau of Clark Road complained that he seen several campfires burning on the beach late at night. Capt.
Sparkman stated that, as a rule, the deputies will not patrol the beach area but that if a call is made they will
investigate.
Discussion took place regarding the new gravel that was laid on Perry Park Road by the Lake County Engineers' Department.
Supposedly, this gravel should compact better and wear longer than the material that was previously used.
Chrm. Haskell moved and Vice Chrm. Amos seconded to vote for Charles Klco and Rich VanPelt of Leroy Township for
Issue 2 representatives to the Board of Elections. POLL OF BOARD: 2 Ayes. MOTION PASSED.
Chrm. Haskell advised that ODOT District 12 will hold progress meetings regarding Vrooman Road Bridge on August
26, 2009.
Seeding of the soccer field on Parmly Road is complete and games should resume after the first of September. The
Trustees discussed installing some netting or some sort of barrier to keep balls from going into the road.
Lake County Soil and Water District is looking into the Township's request to dam up the creek near Township Park
to make a fishing pond. Administrator Siegel will follow up on this.
Administrator Siegel reported that new drawings had to be done for the Seniors' addition to the Community Center.
After the initial set of drawings had been completed, the Seniors' Board made significant changes that required
new drawings. The Trustees requested an opportunity to see the new plans.
There being no further business before the Board, Vice Chrm. Amos moved and Chrm. Haskell seconded to adjourn the
meeting. POLL OF BOARD: 2 Ayes. MOTION PASSED.

PUBLIC HEARING - TUESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2009
The Perry Township Board of Trustees held a Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. to consider
reformatting of the entire Perry Township Zoning Resolution as well as amendment to various sections of the Zoning
Resolution as submitted by the Zoning Commission. Present were Chairman Haskell, Vice Chairman Amos, Trustee Steele,
Fiscal Officer Page and Administrator Siegel. There was no public in attendance.

The Board discussed the reformatting and amendments, as submitted by the Zoning Commission. There was no public
input regarding the measure.
Vice Chrm. Amos suggested that reformatting of the entire Perry Township Zoning Resolution as well as amendment
to various sections of the Zoning Resolution as submitted by the Zoning Commission be accomplished at the Board's
next Regular Meeting.
There being no further business before the Board, Chrm. Haskell moved and Trustee Steele seconded to adjourn the
Public Hearing. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
