Minutes of Meetings - June, 2010
REGULAR MEETING - TUESDAY, JUNE 1, 2010
The Perry Township Board of Trustees held a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. Present were
Chairman Amos, Vice Chairman Steele, Trustee Haskell, Fiscal Officer Page, Administrator Siegel and those whose
names appear on the attached attendance sheet.
The News Herald was advised of this meeting according to law.
Chrmn. Amos called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Vice Chrwmn. Steele moved and Trustee Haskell seconded to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held Tuesday,
May 4, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
Trustee Haskell moved and Vice Chrwmn. Steele seconded to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held Tuesday,
May 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
Chrmn. Amos recognized Fiscal Officer Page who had nothing to report.
Chrmn. Amos then recognized Administrator Siegel who advised concerning the following items:
1. Community Center Repairs/Restoration - Purchase Order number 00099, originally written for $4,500.00 is insufficient
to accomplish grounds restoration. Therefore, Vice Chrwmn. Steele moved and Trustee Haskell seconded to approve
amending P.O. 00099 to $6,000.00. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
2. Pesticide Licensing - Several employees have completed training and passed the pesticide licensing test. Trustee
Haskell moved and Vice Chrwmn. Steele seconded to approve expenditure of $200.00 to employees Anzelc, Baker, Crofoot,
Sprague, Warren and Loczy (upon licensing). POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS. This policy will be adopted
for the Employee's Handbook.
3. Resolution 2010-17. Chrmn. Amos presented the following captioned Resolution and moved its adoption:

A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE REMOVING OF
VEGETATION, DEBRIS AND REFUSE WHICH CONSTITUTES
A NUISANCE AT 3749 BLACKMORE RD. PERRY TOWNSHIP.
Vice Chrwmn. Steele seconded the motion. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. RESOLUTION ADOPTED. (Complete Resolution on
file).
Trustee Haskell advised those in attendance that the Abitibi Bowater bins presently located on Perry Public Schools
property would be moved to the Dake Plumbing property on or after June 12, 2010 for the summer.
Trustee Haskell further advised regarding the Summer Concert Series. Presently, entertainment costs are anticipated
to be $2,825.00 and donations, to date, are at $1,775.00.
Finally, Trustee Haskell inquired concerning installation of new playground equipment that he had asked be installed
before Memorial Day. Administrator Siegel advised that the equipment had been received and that Rich Sundy would
be installing at his earliest convenience.
Vice Chrwmn. Steele advised that the Cemetery grooming for the Memorial Holiday weekend looks good.
Vice Chrwmn. Steele noted that there is a Board of Zoning Appeals meeting currently scheduled for June 9, 2010.
Finally, Vice Chrwmn. Steele advised on her attendance at the Eagle Scout Award Ceremony for Zak Kramer. She noted
that she was quite impressed with the ceremony itself as well as the turn-out and was quite honored to be a part
of it.
Chrmn. Amos had nothing to report, therefore, there being no further business, Trustee Haskell moved and Vice Chrwmn.
Steele seconded to adjourn the meeting. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.

REGULAR MEETING - TUESDAY, JUNE 15, 2010
The Perry Township Board of Trustees held a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Present
were Chairman Amos, Vice Chairwoman Steele, Administrator Siegel and those whose names appear on the attached
attendance sheet. Trustee Haskell and Fiscal Officer Page were not present.
The News Herald was advised of this meeting according to law.
The Board held an advertised Work Session prior to their Regular Meeting.
Chrmn. Amos called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Chairman Amos moved to appoint Walter
Siegel as Clerk Pro-Tem in the absence of Fiscal Officer Page. Vice Chairwoman Steele seconded the motion. POLL
OF BOARD: 2 Ayes. MOTION PASSED.
Chrmn. Amos then recognized Administrator Siegel who advised concerning the following items:
1. 2010 Crack Sealant Program - Vice Chairwoman Steele moved to approve an expenditure to DJL Material and Supply
for $8,000 for the 2010 Township Crack Sealant Program, seconded by Chairman Amos. POLL OF BOARD: 2 Ayes. MOTION
PASSED.
2. Seasonal Help - Vice Chairwoman Steele moved to hire Les Zsigray effective 6/7/10 as part-time seasonal labor
at a rate of $10.00 per hour, seconded by Chairman Amos. POLL OF BOARD: 2 Ayes. MOTION PASSED.
There being no further business, Chairman Amos moved and Vice Chrwmn. Steele seconded to adjourn the meeting.

SPECIAL MEETING - THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 2010
The Perry Township Board of Trustees held a Special Meeting on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. Present
were Chairman Amos, Vice Chairman Steele, Trustee Haskell and Administrator Siegel. Fiscal Officer Page was absent
from the meeting.
The News Herald was advised of this meeting according to law.
The meeting was called to order. Vice Chrm. Steele moved and Trustee Haskell seconded seconded to appoint Michele
Woltman as Clerk Pro Tem in Fiscal Officer Page's absence. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
The Board discussed the recommendations made by Oxbow Engineering and also instructed Administrator Siegel to pursue
engineering and proposals for the next phase of the project, that being construction of an offshore breakwall.
Vice Chrm. Steele moved to award the bid for the Perry Township Park Shoreline Improvements to Winters & Lewis
Excavating at the submitted price of $244,444.00. POLL OF BOARD: 3 Ayes. MOTION UNANIMOUS.
There being no further business, Trustee Haskell moved and Vice Chrm. Steele seconded to adjourn the Special Meeting.
